On May 28, to mark Azerbaijan's Independence Day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Mr. Faig Guliyev, and the General Director of SOCAR Energy Georgia, Mr. Mahir Mammedov, laid flowers at the memorial plaque of Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi. They also visited the Pantheon of prominent Azerbaijani figures in the Tbilisi Botanical Garden, where, among other notable historical personalities, the first Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, Fatali Khan Khoyski, is buried.

Mr. Ambassador Faig Guliyev, Mr. Mahir Mammedov, and the guests also visited the Heydar Aliyev Memorial Garden, established in 2023 by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR in honor of the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev.

At the end of the day, a gala reception was held at the Pullman Hotel, where SOCAR and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted invited guests.
