On September 20, Oil Workers’ Day in Azerbaijan, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) celebrated the dedication and achievements of oil workers and recognized their invaluable contribution to the development of Azerbaijan’s energy sector.

Among the distinguished professionals honored on this occasion were two representatives of SOCAR Energy Georgia: Mr. Gulahmad Hakhiyev, Head of the Internal Control Department, and Mr. Zaza Mgebrishvili, Head of the Emergency and Maintenance Division of SOCAR Georgia Gas. Both were awarded the “Taraggi”(Progress) Medal by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in recognition of their outstanding services to the development of Azerbaijan’s oil industry.

The award reflects the commitment, professionalism and dedication of specialists who have contributed to the continued growth of the energy sector and strengthened the legacy of Azerbaijan’s oil industry.

The Contract of the Century, signed in 1994, laid the foundation for Azerbaijan’s sustainable economic development and marked the beginning of a new era in the country’s energy history. Throughout this remarkable journey, the expertise, commitment and hard work of oil workers have played a vital role.
