Last week, the student internship program at SOCAR Georgia Petroleum’s Testing Laboratory successfully concluded.

The program hosted students from the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

During the internship, participants explored the theoretical foundations of petroleum products, became familiar with modern physicochemical research methods, and gained hands-on experience through direct involvement in laboratory practice. Particular emphasis was placed on gasoline and diesel quality control methods, relevant standards, and advanced analytical approaches.

In 2025, the SOCAR Georgia Petroleum laboratory participated twice in professional interlaboratory testing programs organized by the Netherlands Institute for Interlaboratory Studies (IIS).

The laboratory achieved the highest evaluation results, earning the prestigious “Certificate of Excellence.” This international recognition confirms:

• The robustness of our testing methodologies
• The reliability of our analytical processes
• Full compliance of our laboratory equipment and practices with international standards
